COVID-19 UPDATE

1st November 2021

Impact on programs for the remainder of 2021

From monitoring the COVID-19 situation and in accordance with the government’s current regulations we would like to announce the return of the Wednesday Social Trainings! However, for now this means only the adult trainings will be returning.

For returning players it is essential that players follow the guidelines in order to keep the community safe and to help continue sport, and this continues as other activities come back into play. As always, please follow the current guidelines from NSW Health regarding contact status and isolation requirements and all aspects of the Public Health Order.

SERVICE NSW COVID SAFE CHECK IN

All venues used by MWVA require everyone to check in via the Service NSW Covid Safe Check-in QR Code.

VACCINATION

MWVA will require players of any age to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and a vaccine certificate (or medical contraindication certificate) will be required to enter. Until further notice there will be no exceptions.

MASKS

Masks are required on entry to any MWVA venue and must be worn at all times unless you are on court actively participating. This includes wearing a mask up until warm up begins, if you are on the bench, doing duty, or having a break for more than half a minute.

MWVA VENUE’S

While we are super excited about being back, we do need everyone to play their part in keeping our community safe and able to continue the resumption of activities. Below are the housekeeping rules and expectations of anyone attending MWVA events, although they may change as government and venue guidelines change.

  • Refrain from team huddles, high fives, handshakes, hugging and any other physical contact.
  • Numbers are reduced to 20 per night, make sure you book in to stick to regulations!
  • No spectators or visitors. No exceptions.
  • Arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled time and leave immediately on completion (arrive, train, leave).
  • Comply with the requirement to use hand sanitiser before, during and after session.
  • Remain 1.5m from others wherever practical.
  • Limit use of communal facilities as much as possible.
  • Do not share personal equipment such as whistles, tape, shirts, food or drink.
  • Do not use spit or sweat to wipe anything, including shoes.
  • Sneeze or cough into your elbow and avoid touching your face.

BEFORE PLAYING

  • Do not attend if you are unwell.
  • Do not attend if you have been advised to self-isolate by NSW Health.
  • Agree to a temperature check on entry if requested by the venue or MWVA.
  • Comply with all current government & venue regulations regarding public health orders and advice.

AFTER PLAYING

  • Advise MWVA as soon as possible if you become unwell with flu like symptoms or have a positive Covid-19 test within 14 days of attending any MWVA event.

Any inquiries or issues with credits required from previously postponed training and open court bookings please contact us via Facebook or through the website.

We really appreciate your co-operation and diligence in maintaining these rules as everything starts up again. Remember to stay safe and healthy as we start to see you all coming back onto the court!
